Tecnimont has officially commenced work on a contract for a polyethylene plant within the new polymers complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar. This project, a joint venture between QatarEnergy and Chevron Phillips Chemical, involves constructing two polyethylene units with impressive capacities of 1,000,000 tons per year and 680,000 tons per year, respectively.
For QatarEnergy and Chevron Phillips Chemical this project represents a strategic expansion in the Middle East. The new polyethylene units will significantly increase production capacity, allowing the joint venture to meet the growing demand for polyethylene products in the region and globally.
For Qatar, this project is a significant boost to its petrochemical sector.
